We would like to congratulate Taira Roth for being recognized as one of the recipients for the 2019 Wynn Award by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
Taira was honored during the annual Women’s Sports Luncheon in Springfield, Mo., on Wednesday, March 27th for her talent and athleticism in basketball and golf during her high school and college years.
Taira was a two-sport athlete during her time at both Central High School and Missouri Western State University. In high school, she was a three-year varsity letter-winner in basketball, earning All-City honors as a senior. In golf, she placed seventh and sixth in the 1998 and 1999 state meets, respectively, helping the 1999 team to a third-place finish. At Missouri Western, she was part of the 2002 MIAA basketball championship team and named the university’s Female Athlete of the Year in both 2002-2003 and 2003-2004. She also was part of the inaugural Missouri Western women’s golf team.
