The holiday season is officially upon us! Homes will be lit by warming candles, while churches will be lit up with the soft flow of candle light services. However, the ambiance and comfort candles can offer to your home or gathering can quickly turn sour when candle wax is spilled onto your upholstery or carpet.
Don't panic if you find candle wax on your favorite couch or rug, just follow this procedure to resolve this holiday cleaning dilemma.
Candle wax removal from upholstery and carpets can be accomplished by first letting the candle wax completely harden. Do not try to wipe the wax while it is still soft, this will only spread the spilled wax.
Once the wax is dry, scrape or chip away at the wax using a bone knife or credit card to remove excess surface wax. Then use a vacuum to pick up the loose fragments of wax. If the wax is still soft, use Hillyard Quick & Clean Gum-Go to quickly harden the soft wax.
