Hillyard's Training and Development Department has been recognized for their work in eLearning by Elearning! Magazine.The department was ranked in the top 50 in the private sector for the 2018 Learning! 100 Award. This award recognizes top global learning organizations for their high performance, innovation and culture, according to the release.
According to Jay Redmond, Director of Training and Development, Hillyard was nominated by a third-party courseware provider. Nominees were evaluated on three sets of criteria: Darden School’s Learning Culture Index, Collaborative Strategies’ Innovation & Collaboration Ratings, an overall organizational performance. Every submission was evaluated on the same criteria, scores totaled, and ranked.
All winners were recognized in Elearning! Magazine.
Jay goes on to say “it is an honor to receive recognition from Learning! 100 for some of the programs we are using to train and develop our employees and customers. Being nominated in performance for self-directed learning proves that professional and self-development are becoming a priority for Hillyard. This award belongs to the whole company for our pursuit of learning excellence.”
Hillyard would also like to recognize Jay for earning his certification in Training Management. The Certified Professional in Training Management certification focuses on the role of the training leader and business skills needed to manage performance improvement efficiently.
“I wanted to learn more about how training and development can make a bigger impact on our business, and be a strategic partner,” Redmond said. “This program helped me formalize and validate all that we do by defining the framework and processes used by training organizations to ensure training is strategically aligned with the organization.”
The training and development department team consists of Jay Redmond, Rene Robinson, Carly Edwards, Donna Evans, Dwight Wilcox, Jamie King and Andy Wickersham.
